BBWS has worked with decorative book hardware for over thirty years. We are well acquainted
with the historic precedents of most all designs, and we have invested heavily in the recreation
of many beautiful designs of book clasps, book catches, book cover corner bosses, and
associated pieces.

BBWS brass & bronze book hardware is mostly casted directly from original parts. Exceptions
to this are always noted in the description and such parts will bear a copyrighted mark to
protect the "work of the hands" of the present-day artisan.

We hope you enjoy working with the elegant line of BBWS book hardware.

These beautiful "Duck-Bill" clasps were hand-fashioned, to scale, by Michael Chrisman in 1994, after an original set on a 1501A.D. binding in the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C., and can be see in their book Fine & Historic Bookbindings in the Folger Shakespeare Library.

Again, these Duck-Bill clasps and catches are solid bronze castings from one handmade set in 1994.

PRICE PER SET: $39.00 (one clasp, and one catch)

Note: This is a copyrighted physical clasp & catch design (not a casting derived from an original set), and therefore can not be used for the purposes of reproduction in any form whatsoever.
